Superindentent and Newsletter Editor – Jens Hensel

  • Discuss Mug Distribution.
  • Winter VC Plans.
  • Clinics planned for the remainder of 2026

Assistant Superindentent and Webmaster – Paul Anderson

  • Google Workspace discussion with a mini training session.
  • Website updates.

Chief Clerk – Keith Aleo

  • Does Marshall Stull send out NCR Division Rosters monthly? Or do we have to ask?
  • Walt Wyatt is still listed as a member, so we only have 41 active members.

Trainmaster – John Campbell

  • Reach out to Ned Charlton – member since 1989. He lives in Presque Isle
  • Reach out to Bob Crocker?

Yardmasters – T.J. Stratton and Michael McDougall

  • Discuss potential Winter 2027 Clinics:
  • Should we have all meetings at the TC Location, or should we consider Gaylord or Charlevoix for 1 or 2 meetings? 

Paymaster – David Zolnierek

  • Please produce a Craftsman Kit handout Power point or instruction sheet for the Sep 19 meeting. (Homework assignment).
  • Please produce a Craftsman Kit Power point for the Oct. 17 clinic.

Achievement Program – Pete Magoun, MMR

  • Send me the file (Power Point?), or a Jump Drive for your Clinic (Jazzing up your layout).
  • Bring Craftsman Kits to Sep 19 meeting

Discussion and Meeting Notes: 

  • Jens
    • With agreement from all, Mugs will be also given to the May Open House Hosts and Helpers. (Unless they already have one).
    • Jens will be out of town for the Jan. and Feb. 2027 meetings, but will call in. Paul will lead the meetings.
    • The clinics scheduled for Sep., Oct., Nov., and Dec. were discussed.
    • The clinic in Dec will be hosted by Rich Mahaney – President of the NCR. He will discuss Tank Car Industries.
  • Keith
    • There is no actual schedule when the NCR Division Rosters are sent out.  It is not clear if the reason is because of the NMRA or NCR.  Keith will send a request to Marshall Stull at the NCR monthly for the data, so we can keep on top of the drops and adds promptly.
  • John
    • John has reached out to both Bob Crocker and Ned Charlton.  Both have said that their dues will be sent in shortly.
    • John has also contacted Alan McColl, our newest member, to say hello.
  • David
    • The Craftsman Kit handout in Sep and the Homework instructions were discussed.  They will be built with removal roofs so interior details could be added for the future. This may turn into a several part clinic. 
  • Pete
    • Pete will bring the Power Point for the Sep 19 Meeting with him, on a Jump Drive.
    • Pete will bring the Craftsman Kits to the Sep 19 Meeting.
  • T.J.
    • Craig Wilson will present a slide presentation (his photos) from a friends Atlantic & Great Eastern Railroad.
    • There will be an election soon for a new NCR President.  Please see the latest Hotbox for additional information.
  • Paul
    • This meeting was held in Google Workspace versus Zoom. Only the basic version has been purchased to date. We will need to purchase the premium version to record the meeting and post it on our Website.
    • The direction to switch from Zoom to Google came from the NMRA.  The NCR, in the future, may cover the cost of the license.
    • Sign in for this meeting was not automatic. People were in the waiting room and had to be let in (as it was in the past on the old Zoom).  Paul to investigate if it can be an automatic sign in again for Google.
    • Paul to place our “You Tube Channel” link on our Website.
    • Paul added John Campbell in place of Al Johnson for the Trainmaster position on our website.
  • General Discussion
    • Possible Future Clinics were discussed:
      • Track Lighting relative to fast clocks.
      • Photographing and stitching together a backdrop.
      • End of train LED marker lights. (Commercial or homemade?).
      • Caboose LED Marker Lights. (Commercial or homemade?)
    • Different Division Meeting Locations.
      • Gaylord and Charlevoix were discussed as a possibility for next Spring.
