SUMMARY:2026 Spring Open House
DESCRIPTION:The Tip of the Mitt (Division 2)\, of the North Central Region (NCR)\, of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) is hosting a special one-time\, no-cost event. \n\n\n\nWhile this is a free event\, we are asking that an at-will donation be made to support our local Food Pantries: Leelanau Christian Neighbors and Father Fred Foundation of Traverse City. Donation containers will be available at each of the open railroads.  \n\n\n\nReserve your spot now! RSVP today!   \n\n\n\nRailroad Basics\n\n\n\n\nThere will be seven (7) operating model railroads to visit in and around the Traverse City area. \n\n\n\nThere are three (3) in Leelanau County\, three (3) in Grand Traverse County\, and one (1) in Benzie County. \n\n\n\nThe model railroads range between 32 sq. ft. and 1500 sq. ft. in size; everything from a 4’ x 8’ tabletop to complete basements. \n\n\n\nMost of the railroads are between 90% and 100% complete.  \n\n\n\nAll the layouts are in HO scale (1:87).\n\n\n\nYou are visiting individual residences.     \n\n\n\nThis is a family friendly event. Young children are welcome\, but they must be supervised by an adult.\n\n\n\nVisit one or as many as you like.\n\n\n\nNote: None of the open railroads are considered Handicap Accessible. Everybody who enters an RSVP for the open house will be emailed a link to this Google Map in early May. You can then use this map to plan your visits and navigate to each of the open railroads. Look for a sign with traditional railroad crossbucks to indicate the location of the layout. That email will also include a suggested starting point based on your reservation RSVP date and your home location. This will only be for the 10:00 am start time to avoid congestion at the first railroad you visit. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP Now!\n\n\n\nPlease include the total number of guests in your group when you RSVP.
